One of its most distinctive features is the house itself — a beautifully restored Art Deco homestead that suffered minor damage during Cyclone Gabrielle before being lovingly returned to its former glory by its owners.

The brief for this shoot was anything but standard real estate. The owners wanted imagery with a genuine lifestyle feel — warm, atmospheric, and lived-in rather than the clean, wide-angle compositions typical of property photography. As a Hawke's Bay commercial photographer that kind of brief is exactly what gets me excited. It's an invitation to interpret a space rather than simply document it, and Meadowood House gave me plenty to work with.
