Woolworks Reopening by Hawke's Bay Photorapher Michael
This was an event I really wanted to get right, because this was a really massive day for Woolworks. The wool industry has been through a rough time lately with falling wool prices worldwide and then COVID. To top that off, Cylcone Gabrielle badly damaged the factory including severe damage to the entire building's electrical system. Woolworks decided then to rebuild better than ever, so commissioned architects to redesign their new office suites, and major repairs to the building were completed and these took well over a year.
With the reopening there was a Pouwhiri (a blessing), unveiling of 3 beautiful Pou at the front of the building, and an international contingent of customers, suppliers, partners, and well wishers in attendance for this. As a Hawke's Bay Event Photographer this was actually a really moving, touching experience and one I was glad to be part of.
